Move over Biggest Loser, there is a new weight loss reality show coming to town. NBC has announced that Losing it With Jillian, will premiere on Tuesday, June 1 at 10 pm. and run for eight weeks. The Devil in a Sports Bra herself will move in with families and work with them on developing a healthy lifestyle.

Ms. Michaels will be assisted by celebrity chef and cutie, Curtis Stone.

Considering that The Biggest Loser will be wrapped up by June 1 and reruns will be the mainstay of network television. Losing it With Jillian should be a big hit. While I am not always a fan of Jillian Michaels methods, she seems to touch people one-on-one and her heart seems to be in the right place. The one-family-at-a-time, grassroots approach to changing lives will be interesting to watch.

If the show is a hit, keep your eyes peeled for open casting calls for next season.

Will you be watching?

  1. This is my first season watching BL. I had to see what all the fuss was about. Not sure I like it. But, given the summer hiatus of most of my shows, I will probably try Jillian once.

  2. I might check out the first episode to see if it's any good. I like Jillian, but yes, sometimes she gets on my nerves. I do think she is doing a lot of good in helping people. :)

  3. Oh. I'll definitely be watching although I believe Jillian actually tweeted that this show has morphed into something completely different than weight loss.

    read: Dr. Phil-ing.

  4. I'll watch it, but I'm never that big a fan of putting children in reality shows.

I don't think it's the best thing for anyone's self esteem to go through therapy on national television - which is essentially what Jillian forces people into. Adults make that choice for themselves, but kids? Come on. I'm not denying that some of them need help, but does that help have to come in the form of being broadcast to the nation?

  5. I will be watching. I like the "in your face" approach that both Bob and Jillian have. Of course, Bob is generally nicer - but Jillian gets people to move just as fast with her more direct approach.

  6. I don't watch television(except at the gym...haha!). But I love me some Jillian! Not from TBL as I've only seen 1 or 2 episodes of the show, but just how encouraging she is from the shred.

  8. I'll have to catch clips on youtube, as I don't have tv. I like jillian, because I was in the army...the direct approach works for most people.
I know it did for me.
for the first few months of my workout, it was jillians voice I heard in my head whenever I wanted to quit.
I heard "Faint, Puke, or die...but keep walking"
    It worked.

  9. Oh yes!!! I will watch! I love her! Although she is tough, I do believe she also does it to keep up with the reputation she has been given by the media. i do enjoy her tips and life coach experience! I will watch!

  11. I"ll probably check it out. Not a big fan of The Biggest Loser anymore. The stories can still be touching but too much drama: no thank you! I have enough of my own :)

  12. I'll be watching, too. With Jillian, I use the old saying: eat the meat an' spit out the bones. I take what I agree with and what is healthy for me and my needs, and leave the rest.

Just the thought of Jillian moving in with me is enough to give me the shivers, though!

  14. I heard this was coming & I will probably check it out. Like TBL, I like to catch the different moves they use so I can try new things.

It is almost tempting to gain weight to get Curtis in my home!!! :-) Just kidding!

  15. Haha! I meant to write "quarter life crisis"!

  16. I have to say, I am NOT a Jillian fan. I don't have any respect for trainers who advocate losing diet pills to lose weight!!

  17. I like her so I'll be watching. I also liked watching Curtis' Take Home Chef so 2 reasons to watch.

  18. Anonymous Fat Girl said that Jillian gets on her nerves - I have to admit that I feel the same way. (Something about her voice - sorry Jillian) But when I do (or attempt to do, with some modifications) her work-outs, I definitely feel like I've pushed myself. Thanks, Karen, for letting us know about her upcoming show, I'll probably check it out.

  19. I also agree with Gabriela - diet pills are NOT the way! When I was a teenager I would try every fad diet supplement - not only did they usually not work, they could have been dangerous for my health. A healthy diet is key. Not fads!
